SUP Yoga Teacher Training FAQs
Answers to some of your most frequently asked questions about SUP Yoga teacher training
Q. Do I need to be a yoga teacher to take the training?
A. You don’t need to be a qualified yoga teacher to take the training but you will need to be a qualified teacher in order to become certified at the end of the course. Some people may choose to take the training to further their own practice and enjoyment of SUP Yoga.
Q. What if I’m currently completing a RYT200 teacher training?
A. Any teachers who are currently completing their 200hr teacher training are eligible to become certified in SUP Yoga following successful completion of their 200hr course. You’ll just need to send us a copy of your training certificate and we can then process your SUP Yoga certification.
Q. Do I need to be a SUP instructor to be a SUP Yoga instructor?
A. No, but you will need to deliver your SUP yoga classes alongside a certified SUP instructor if you are not certified yourself. We would strongly encourage you to consider becoming a certified SUP instructor as well, which increases your skills, knowledge and professional opportunities.
Q. Do I need to have a water safety qualification to be a SUP Yoga instructor?
A. No, but similar to the above, we would strongly encourage it. If you are not a SUP instructor you will always need one on hand while you are delivering your courses.

A. No, you are welcome to use our equipment, including pre-course practice.
Q. Do I need to know how to swim to become a SUP Yoga teacher?

A. We teach a mix of vinyasa flow, Hatha and Yin yoga.
