— Why paddleboarding

Paddleboarding exclusively for your group.

A private group booking means exactly that. From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave, the session belongs to your group. There’s no other party on the canal with you, no timetable to share, no compromise on pace, route or duration. It’s arranged around you.

We take groups from two people up to fifty-plus. Friends getting together for the first time in years. Family groups with mixed ages and abilities. Colleagues who’ve decided a meeting room isn’t how they want to spend the afternoon. Social clubs, running groups, book clubs that have decided they’d rather be on the water. We’ve had them all and we’ve yet to find a group that doesn’t enjoy it.

Our instructors handle everything on the day. You don’t need to have any experience, any equipment or any particularly strong idea of what you’re doing. By the time the session is over, you’ll have done it. And if our track record is anything to go by, you’ll probably want to do it again.

— WHY IT WORKS

What makes it a great group activity

Unique

Unique Experience
Paddleboarding on a London canal is still the kind of experience most people haven’t tried, making it an instant talking point. Prepare to hear ‘remember that time…’ for many years to come!

Memorable

They’ll remember how it feels
Presents come and go, experiences last a lifetime. Make memories with the ones you love – they’ll last far longer than the latest fashions or yet another impulse buy.

Fun

Genuinely fun for everyone
No experience required. No particular level of fitness needed. Our instructors love encouraging cautious beginners or challenging the sporty SUPers.  Everyone is welcome!

Exclusive

Exclusively access
Escape the crowds and see London from a unique perspective that you can only get from the water. Your session is private from start to finish, your group gets the full experience, distraction free.
— EVERY KIND OF GROUP

Any Group, Any Occasion

Private group sessions work for almost any reason a group of people might want to get on the water together. Some of the most common:

👩🏾‍🤝‍👩🏻

Friends and social groups

The classic private booking. A group of friends who want to do something different together. From two people to fifteen, it works at any scale.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Family Groups

Mixed ages, mixed abilities, grandparents to teenagers. We’re used to making sessions work for everyone, and we’re good at it. No one gets left behind.

💼

Work Leaving Dos

A leaving do that isn’t a pub. Active, memorable and something the leaver will love. We’ve run plenty of these and they’re always a good afternoon.

🏃

Sport & Social Clubs

Running clubs, cycling groups, book clubs, walking groups. Any club that wants to try something new to change up their training or a purely social outing.

Looking for something specific? Corporate team building, hen and stag dos, birthday groups and canal litter picks all have their own dedicated pages with tailored information. This page is for everything else.

— Common Questions

Private group booking FAQs

Everything the organiser usually wants to know before hitting send on the enquiry. Still have a question? Just get in touch — we’re happy to chat through anything.

What's the minimum group size for a private booking?

Two people. Private bookings work for couples or pairs just as well as they do for large groups. The session is exclusively yours regardless of the number.

How long is a typical session?

Most private group sessions run for around 90 minutes to two hours. We can accommodate shorter or longer sessions depending on what your group wants and what’s available at your chosen location. Let us know when you enquire and we’ll work around it.

Does everyone need to be able to swim?

All participants need to feel comfortable in and around the water and be able to comfortably float.

Can we choose which location to go to?

Yes. We have four London canal locations: Camden and Regent’s Park, Hackney, Islington and Paddington Basin. Each has its own character and accessibility. If you’re not sure which suits your group best, ask us and we’ll give you an honest steer.

Do we need any experience?

No experience required at all. Our instructors teach you what you need to know before the session starts and stay with you throughout. Most people are standing and paddling confidently within the first fifteen minutes.

How far in advance do we need to book?

For weekend sessions, especially in spring and summer, we recommend booking 3 to 4 weeks in advance as these fill up quickly. Weekday sessions are often available with shorter notice. Get in touch and we’ll tell you exactly what’s available around your birthday date.

What should we wear?

Sporty clothes are great. In the summer, shorts, leggings or joggers with a T. When it’s a bit chillier, layers are great. Everyone needs shoes – wetshoes are ideal but an old pair of trainers are fine. We have changing rooms and showers at all locations. Secure storage for bags and valuables is available on site.

What happens if the weather is bad?

We paddle in most weather — wetsuits mean a light shower doesn’t stop the session. If conditions are genuinely unsafe (high winds or thunderstorms), we’ll contact you as early as possible to rearrange at no extra cost. We never cancel without a good reason and always work with you to find an alternative date.

I expected to enjoy this experience because i have paddle boarded previously. But I’ll just say now I was blown away by how much I enjoyed it. Sunny day, calm canal, being outside and paddleboarding was a massive dopamine hit. Two thumbs up for Clare and Justine who were amazing tour guides. Looking forward to the next time! Highly recommend!

We had a great trip with a very nice guide, he was fun, friendly and had a lot to tell about the surroundings. It was a special experience in the middle of a big city, quiet, fun and interesting. You should absolutly try it.😎

Our instructor was welcoming and charming throughout and really helped us get comfortable almost straight away. She told us some of the history of Camden and showed us some of the many sights along the way.  She took pics all along the way as we chatted, the photos have come out really well on account of how relaxed we were.

Will definitely return, maybe for a sunset paddle but loved every minute of it.
