Why paddleboarding
for a hen or stag do?
There’s a version of a hen do that everyone’s been on. The cocktail class, the bottomless brunch, the afternoon spa. And then there’s paddling down Regent’s Canal with your group, trying not to fall in, feeling a little less anxious when somebody takes one for the team, while London drifts past on either side.
It works because it puts everyone on equal footing. Nobody’s done this before. Nobody’s better at it. The bride, the groom-to-be, the nervous bridesmaid who almost didn’t come: they’re all in the same boat. Or rather, they’re all standing on their own board trying very hard to look like they know what they’re doing.
Every session is completely private. It’s just your group, our instructors, and the canal. No strangers joining in, no shared bookings with another party, no compromise on pace. We tailor the session to your group — the location, the duration, how hard you want to push it, and whether you’d like a little ceremony once you’re back on dry land.

Hen and Stag booking FAQs
Everything the organiser usually wants to know before hitting send on the enquiry. Still have a question? Just get in touch, we’re happy to chat through anything.
What's the minimum group size?
We take hen and stag groups from 6 people upwards. For larger groups of 20 or more, we run multiple instructors simultaneously so everyone paddles together.
Does everyone need to be able to swim?
All participants need to feel comfortable in and around the water and be able to comfortably float.
Can we organise it as a surprise?
Absolutely — and it works brilliantly. Just mention it in your enquiry and we’ll coordinate entirely with you as the organiser, keeping the hen/stag completely in the dark. We’re used to doing this and we love the reveal moment as much as you do.
Can we bring drinks on the canal?
Water, yes. We’d recommend keeping anything stronger than that for after the session rather than on the boards. Once you’re back on dry land, the celebration is entirely yours. We can point you towards good nearby spots if you’d like recommendations.
What if some people in the group are nervous?
Honestly, the nervous ones usually end up being the most enthusiastic by the end. Our instructors are very good at reading a group and they’ll always make sure nobody feels pushed beyond what they’re comfortable with. We’ve had people arrive saying they weren’t sure about it and leave asking when they can come back.
How far in advance do we need to book?
For weekend sessions, especially between April and September, we’d recommend booking four to six weeks ahead as these fill up quickly. Weekday sessions are often available with shorter notice. Drop us a message and we’ll check what’s available around your date.
What happens if the weather is bad?
We paddle in most weather — wetsuits mean a light shower doesn’t stop the session. If conditions are genuinely unsafe (high winds or thunderstorms), we’ll contact you as early as possible to rearrange at no extra cost. We never cancel without a good reason and always work with you to find an alternative date.

I wanted something super chilled and multi-generational and this was perfect. We had a few hens who arrived later so they were able to catch us up on the towpath and we all stopped for ice cream. It was perfect.
