Every birthday group session is exclusively yours. No strangers in the background, no shared booking, no compromising on pace or route. We tailor everything to your group: the location, the duration, the vibe. Whether you want something mellow and scenic or a bit more of a challenge, we’ll make it work.
Our certified instructors have guided hundreds of birthday groups, ranging from nervous first-timers who’ve never been near a paddleboard to groups of confident paddlers looking for their next London adventure. Everyone is welcome. No experience required.

30th, 40th, 50th, we’ve even done a 70th! The big ones deserve something properly memorable. A private canal session with your closest group, followed by lunch or drinks nearby. We handle the activity, you handle the celebrations.

Not every birthday needs a crowd. We take groups from as few as 4 people — perfect for a close-knit group of friends or a couples’ experience on the canal. Just as private, just as guided.

Big Birthday Parties
Organising a large group? We can accommodate birthday parties of up to 24 people across multiple instructors running simultaneously. Everyone paddles together. The canal doesn’t feel crowded, it feels like a party.

What's the minimum size for a birthday?
We can take birthday groups from as few as 4 people. There’s no upper limit — we’ve run birthday sessions for groups of 50+ using multiple instructors running simultaneously. Tell us your numbers and we’ll build the right format.
Can we organise it as a surprise?
Absolutely — and it works brilliantly. Just mention it in your enquiry and we’ll coordinate entirely with you as the organiser, keeping the birthday person completely in the dark. We’re used to doing this and we love the reveal moment as much as you do.
Does everyone need to be able to swim?
All participants need to feel comfortable in and around the water and be able to comfortably float.
Can we bring drinks or food for a celebration?
We’re happy to accommodate snacks and even managed a few birthday cakes with candles but please let us know any requests like this in advance. Sadly we can’t allow any alcohol on board but we have local Prosecco partners in Camden and Hackney that we can recommend for your post-paddle celebration.
What if someone in the group has never paddled before?
No problem at all! Most birthday groups include people at all different ability levels. Our instructors are brilliant at getting first-timers standing and paddling confidently within the first 15 minutes. We adapt the session to the group, not the other way around
How far in advance do we need to book?
For weekend sessions, especially in spring and summer, we recommend booking 3 to 4 weeks in advance as these fill up quickly. Weekday sessions are often available with shorter notice. Get in touch and we’ll tell you exactly what’s available around your birthday date.
What happens if the weather is bad?
We paddle in most weather — wetsuits mean a light shower doesn’t stop the session. If conditions are genuinely unsafe (high winds or thunderstorms), we’ll contact you as early as possible to rearrange at no extra cost. We never cancel without a good reason and always work with you to find an alternative date.

I organised this for my friend’s 30th and it was the best decision. Fourteen of us paddled past London Zoo and everyone had the most incredible time. The photos were actually sent to us later that afternoon so we relived it all over again. Definitely recommend!
