The Regent’s Canal through Islington is a different experience from our other locations. It’s quieter, more sheltered, and the towpath has a genuinely pleasant leafy character that makes the whole session feel like a proper escape from the city rather than a reminder that you’re in it. Weeping willows trail into the water. Narrowboats moor up along the bank. It feels unhurried in a way that London rarely does.

It’s also our most central location, which makes it the easiest for groups travelling from different parts of the city to get to and the most natural choice for a midweek corporate session or a birthday group that wants to keep travel straightforward. Beginners tend to do particularly well here; the calm water and relaxed atmosphere take the edge off any first-session nerves. After your paddle, the towpath pubs, cafés and ice cream spots are genuinely worth stopping at. We’d recommend building that into your afternoon.

There’s something worth knowing about our Islington base. We operate here in partnership with Islington Boat Club, a local charity that teaches watersports to young people from the community, many of whom have grown up alongside this canal without ever getting the chance to get on it.
