— Why paddleboarding litter picks

Paddleboarding with purpose

London’s canals are beautiful. They’re also full of plastic bottles, shopping bags, traffic cones and the kind of detritus that ends up in waterways when people aren’t looking after them. A canal litter pick session changes that, not just symbolically, but in reality. Your group will collect real waste from real stretches of water and leave a stretch of London in better condition than you found it.

We provide everything: the boards, the safety gear, the litter-picking equipment and a summary of what your group collected at the end,  perfect for CSR reports, sustainability targets and internal communications.

Every session is fully guided. No paddleboarding experience is required and the litter pick element doesn’t make the session harder — it just gives it a point.

💡 Corporate add-on. Litter pick sessions can be combined with a standard team building paddle — your group spends time doing both. It’s our most popular corporate format for teams with sustainability or ESG commitments.

— WHY IT WORKS

Changing perceptions on and off the water

Impactful

Real environmental impact
Your group will physically remove waste from London’s canals. We weigh and record everything collected, so the impact isn’t abstract. It’s a number you can be proud of.

Reportable

Genuine CSR credentials
Each session come with documentation that works for sustainability reports, ESG targets and internal communications. Not just a feel-good day out.

Enjoyable

It’s still a great experience
The paddleboarding is still the paddleboarding. Your group is still on the canal, still laughing, still getting photos. The litter pick adds purpose to a session that’s already excellent on its own.

Memorable

Works for any group
Corporate teams, community organisations, charity volunteers, school groups, social clubs. If your group wants to do something with their time that they’ll feel good about, this is it.
— WHO IS IT FOR

Who books canal litter picking sessions?

Corporate CSR sessions

Corporate CSR sessions
The most common booking. Companies with sustainability commitments, ESG reporting requirements or teams who want a meaningful away day. We provide full documentation including waste summary.

Community and charity groups

Residents’ associations, local charities, neighbourhood groups, school and university groups. If your organisation is connected to the canal communities of London, we’d love to hear from you. We work with community groups on pricing wherever we can.

Sport and Social Clubs

Running clubs, cycling groups, social organisations looking for a group activity with a bit more to it. The litter pick adds a layer of purpose that makes the session feel different from a standard group outing.

Hen dos and birthday groups

More common than you’d think. Groups who want their session to mean something beyond the photos. The eco angle makes for a different kind of story, and the photos from a litter pick session are just as good as any other.
The Process

How a litter pick session works

We handle everything from first enquiry to final photo. All you need to do is show up and enjoy.

Send us an enquiry

Tell us about your group — size, organisation type, preferred location and date. We’ll come back with options and, for corporate groups, a summary of what we can provide for reporting.

We plan the session

We’ll identify the best stretch of canal for litter collection, plan the paddling route and prep the equipment. Corporate clients get documentation as standard.

Your group paddles & picks

Your instructor leads the group along the canal with litter-picking equipment on each board. The waste gets collected in trugs for sorting afterwards. It’s satisfying in a way that surprises most groups.

Report & Photos Follow

We send your photo album and waste summary the following day. For corporate groups, this includes a certificate of completion and anything else needed for reporting.

— Common Questions

Canal litter pick FAQs

Do participants need paddleboarding experience?

No. Our instructors teach everyone to paddle safely before the session starts. The litter pick element doesn’t require any additional skill, if anything, it gives people a focus that helps them find their balance more quickly.

What documentation do you provide for CSR reporting?

We provide a post-session summary including the total waste collected by weight, rubbish types, group photography and a session description suitable for sustainability reports and internal communications. We can tailor this to meet your reporting format requirements.

Can we combine the litter pick with a team building session?

Yes, and it’s our most popular corporate format. We integrate the litter pick into a longer session so your group spends time paddling and collecting. It doesn’t feel like two separate activities, it flows naturally as one.

Can you invoice for corporate litter pick sessions?

Yes. All corporate bookings can be invoiced directly and we accept purchase orders. Get in touch and we’ll sort the paperwork alongside the session planning.

How far ahead do we need to book?

For groups over 15 we suggest at least 4-6 weeks. We’re particularly busy in April around Earth Day and July for plastic-free July but we run litter pick sessions all year round.
