Amsterdam is a beautiful city with the unique canals and hundreds of bridges.  Paddleboarding along the iconic canals is a truly unique way to experience the city, sightseeing by SUP.  On our weekend visit, we’ll take in many of the historical buildings as well as head out to the city beach for a day of exploring.

Saturday 22 April – Beach day at IJburg city beach.  Morning paddle with a break for lunch then afternoon SUP Yoga and/or games

Sunday 23 April – Morning Canal Paddle – another chance to explore even more of this stunning city

This trip is part organised and part DIY in order to keep costs down. The fee includes:

  • A welcome drink on Friday evening
  • Special goodie bag
  • A final farewell drink on the Sunday

It does not include:

However, this makes it much more flexible in terms of costs for those who might want to attend on a budget as well as those who might want to splash out a bit more. You will be given information on meeting places and where we’ll paddle as well as recommendations for where to stay location and budget wise.  All of our meeting locations are accessible via hire bike or public transport and/or we can arrange taxi shares.

Solo travellers are welcome and we’re happy to try to buddy people up for shared accommodation on request.

At publishing, transportation options include:

Eurostar – from £168 return

Flights – from £119 return

Bus – from £60 return

Evening meals – everyone will be given the option to eat together at a suggested local restaurant.  It’s personal choice if you’d like to join the group or go off on your own to explore.

£350 with equipment included (subtract £50 if bringing your own board)

You have the option to pay in full or you can pay a £50 deposit to secure your space with the balance due 31 March.  All deposits are non-refundable but you are able to transfer your space at any time.  In the event that we (Paddleboarding London or our local providers) are unable to offer the trip due to government restrictions, all payments will be refunded.  This does not include weather-related cancellations or changes of itinerary while in Amsterdam.

This trip is limited to just 10 and it will sell out so do book early to avoid disappointment.

What level of experience is considered a Competent paddler?

These tours will not have any formal instruction.  They will include safety briefings for the specific location but all paddlers will be expected to know the basics of paddling including:  how to get on/off your board, how to attach a leash, how to come up to standing and back down to kneeling, how to paddle in a straight line, how to turn and how to self-rescue.  You do not need to be able to paddle at any great speed.  If in doubt, drop us an email.

Do I have to participate in all of the activities?

No, but the price is set for the entire trip so while you’re free to attend or not there is no discounted rate available.

I'm not a member of your club, can I still attend?

This trip will be open to our members first for booking.  If there are still spaces available we will then open it to the public.  You can secure your space early by joining our club first and then sign up for the trip.  Memberships start from £1 per annum and all levels of experience are welcome.

Do I need a licence to bring my own board to Amsterdam?

No, you will not need a licence to bring your board on any of our organised paddles.
